Typically past life regressions are not scary at all, they are absolutely fascinating. They often leave you win a feeling of wonderment and awe.
If there are scary moments, a good therapist will have you stand by as a neutral observer and not experience the fear emotion. They will then get you to release any emotions you harbor about it and take with you only the knowledge and get you to release any scary elements - which has therapeutic applications. A strong emotion like fear can be used to your advantage.
Usually fear is not experienced in a session at all, but it can happen on a rare occasion. When it does, it’s a therapeutic tool if you have an experienced therapist that knows how to use it.
From a client’s perspective, I have been taken through many death scenes and only one started to get slightly scary but I would not trade the experience as it was valuable to me. I didn’t really feel the fear either, I just knew it was there like watching a movie.
Some people do emotionally take part in past life regression experiences, but a good therapist will take measures to help them know they are safe and protected, and can minimize the person’s reaction to the situation.
