DO SESSIONS NEED BE CONDUCTED IN PERSON OR CAN THEY BE CONDUCTED ONLINE?
Most types of sessions can be conducted via Zoom, Face Time, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet. QHHT sessions are only conducted in person as per the direction of Delores Cannon.

-
There is no drive-time which saves you time, stress, and gas.
-
Usually, people are more relaxed in their own homes.
-
You have all of your creature comforts, and control of the temperature.
-
You may go right to sleep afterwards, if desired.
-
You may eat or drink something afterwards, which is helpful if your session was longer.
WHAT HYPNOSIS IS:
Hypnosis is a state of relaxation where the subconscious mind is brought to the forefront using various relaxation techniques, while the conscious mind stands by like a casual onlooker. Having your mind in this state allows you to download information faster. The subconscious mind is more powerful in enacting the positive suggestions in your daily life than just thinking a thought consciously. Thinking a thought consciously can often work, but it takes a lot longer for the sub-conscious to decide to enact the conscious suggestion. Plus, it has to be thought in a specific way for the subconscious to not reject the idea as being untrue, like if someone is flat broke, and they look in the mirror every say and say "I am a millionaire!" The critical conscious mind will review the proof and reject the idea as an un-truth and therefore not allow the information to filter down into the subconscious mind. It needs to be said to the subconscious mind while it is in the right state, and said in the right way. This makes hypnosis an investment.
WHAT HYPNOSIS IS NOT:
1. Not a replacement for medical or mental health treatment. It can be used as a supplement, but does not replace it. We are certified in Mental Health First Aid, and are happy to refer you to other sources if something is deemed out of our scope of practice.
2. Mind Control. Hypnosis will not make you do things you do not want to do, because your conscious mind is still present and will reject suggestions that it does not agree with (see the paragraph above). It will not make you cluck like a chicken in front of a crowd, unless you want to of course...
3. Hypnosis cannot create new abilities within you, however it can bring out abilities you already have, even if you did not previously know they were there; and it can instill the desire and motivation to learn the new skills needed or seek out the professionals that can assist you in attaining what you set out to accomplish with hypnosis. An example of this would be someone who is overweight and sedentary looking to lose weight and get fit - so they seek out a doctor, a personal trainer, and a nutritionist after their hypnosis sessions had alleviated other issues such as anxiety, poor sleep quality, poor self-esteem, and given them motivation and inspiration to succeed. It all starts with changing the mind, then the other components fall in line. We several favored professionals if referrals are requested.
CAN HYPNOSIS BE USED TO CONTROL PAIN?
There have been many studies conducted all over the world that provide scientific proof hypnosis can be used for pain management. It can be used for both acute and chronic pain, across all kinds of causes. It can be used for burn victims, phantom limb syndrome for amputees, IBS pain, fibromyalgia, cancer pain, angioplasty, plastic surgery, arthritis, back and neck pain, dental anxiety, palliative care, dysmenorrhea, and even childbirth. It has even been used to reduce anesthesia during surgery, A few cases have used hypno-anesthesia successfully to perform thyroid surgery and amputations. Hypnosis can be used to gradually reduce pain over the course of several sessions, and of course should be done with permission and referral to a doctor for traditional treatment. Subjects will also be taught self-hypnosis and provided with recordings so they can use the methods when they are not in a session. Click here for a list of articles. CAN HYPNOSIS BE USED TO TREAT MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES?
Some mental health issues respond well to hypnosis, such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, insomnia, improving memory for those with brain injuries, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, phobias, and physical issues brought on by psychological distress, such as IBS, migraines, backaches, etc. A referral from a physician or therapist is required, as hypnosis in these instances is not a stand alone treatment.
Hypnosis should not be used on those with schizophrenia or psychosis.
CAN YOU GET STUCK IN HYPNOSIS?
Despite the plot of the movie 'Office Space', no you cannot get stuck in hypnosis. When you are in the state of hypnosis, your brain is making the same brain waves you make just before you fall asleep. Your brainwaves fluctuate throughout the day naturally, so even if a storm knocked out the power and you were in the middle of a session, you would just fall asleep for a little bit, or wake up out of it and go about your day. When you are in hypnosis, there is no loss of control and you are generally aware of your surroundings, albeit more relaxed and peaceful.
I CAN'T BE HYPNOTIZED.
If you believe you can't be hypnotized, then you will probably put up some resistance if you try. Truth be told, you were hypnotized for your entire childhood; and now you are every night before you fall asleep, every morning before you wake up, when you are mindlessly doing something like driving...You spend most of your day in the brain wave states that are hypnotic. Even if you have a very busy mind or a highly analytical left-brained thinker, there are exercises that can be used to reign that in. Theta brainwaves (4-8 Hz) are prevalent in children between 2 and 6 years old during waking states, while in adults, they are associated with hypnosis. This allows their minds to rapidly download information to their subconscious minds for later use. This is how they learn so easily. They are downloading the programs they need to navigate through life. This is how as an adult, you can update your own programming and re-wire your brain and choose what to put into your brain, and over-write outdated programs that do not serve you.
